Text vs. Email Marketing: Which Channel Gets Better Results?
When it comes to direct marketing, two channels do most of the heavy lifting: SMS and email. Most businesses end up using both, but plenty of teams still wonder which channel deserves more of their budget, their attention, and their best ideas.
The short answer is that SMS and email aren't the same tool. They win at different jobs. SMS is where speed and visibility matter most. Email is where depth, design, and nurture matter most. The businesses growing fastest in 2026 are running both, in sequence.
In this article, we'll cover how the two channels compare, where each one fits, and how to decide what's right for your next campaign.
What Is SMS Marketing?
SMS marketing is permission-based text messaging sent to subscribers who've opted in to hear from your business. Businesses use it to promote products, send reminders, confirm orders, drive loyalty, and a lot more.
Today, SMS marketing goes well beyond simple text blasts. It includes MMS messages (with images and GIFs), two-way conversations, drip campaigns, automated triggers, and AI-assisted messaging.
Businesses use SMS for a wide range of campaigns, including:
- Promotions and flash sales
- Appointment reminders and confirmations
- Order and shipping updates
- Customer service and two-way conversations
- Loyalty rewards and VIP access
- Lead follow-up and re-engagement
It's important to note that SMS marketing requires explicit written opt-in under the TCPA. Subscribers actively choose to hear from you, and that's a big reason engagement rates run so high. To dig deeper into how SMS programs are built, take a look at our SMS marketing guide.
Pros of SMS Marketing
Here's why SMS continues to outperform other channels for so many businesses.
High Open Rates and Immediate Visibility
98% of text messages are opened, and 82 to 95% are read within 3 to 5 minutes of delivery. The average email open rate is between 20% and 37%, and emails are often read hours later, if at all.
When your message needs to be seen today, SMS is hard to beat. Texting is also the #1 mobile activity for 83% of consumers, ahead of social media (75%) and email (66%).
Higher Response and Conversion Rates
SMS response rates average 45%, while email response rates sit around 6%. SMS conversion rates average 21 to 30% for well-optimized campaigns, compared to about 12% for email.
Why such a big difference? SMS subscribers are a self-selected, high-intent audience. They gave you their phone number, which is a more deliberate gesture than typing an email at checkout. That intentionality carries through every campaign you send.
Concise, Friction-Free Messaging
No design team required. No HTML templates. No subject line A/B testing. You write the message and send it.
Character limits also force clarity, which is helpful when your message has to land fast. SMS works without an internet connection too, and it reaches customers on any mobile phone, smartphone or basic.
Two-Way Communication
SMS lets you have real conversations with customers. They can reply, ask questions, and get answers in the same thread. 71% of consumers want the ability to text a business back, and SMS is the only direct channel where that feels natural.
Two-way SMS is great for customer service, appointment confirmations, feedback collection, and order support. Textedly's Two-Way SMS and Inbox help businesses manage all of their conversations in one place.
Strong ROI
SMS ROI ranges from $21 to $71 per $1 spent, with seasonal campaigns reaching the top end. Subscriber acquisition cost can be as low as $0.45, which makes SMS a low-cost, high-return channel when executed well.
66% of businesses using SMS are increasing their SMS marketing budgets, and 82% agree it's an effective way to drive revenue.

Cons of SMS Marketing
SMS isn't the right tool for every job. Here are a few trade-offs to keep in mind before you launch.
Character Limits Require Conciseness
Standard SMS messages are limited to about 160 characters. Platforms like Textedly support longer messages with 300+ characters and MMS with images, but there are still natural length limits compared to email. Complex messages with multiple CTAs, detailed product descriptions, or storytelling are usually a better fit for email.
Higher Cost Per Message at Scale
SMS is priced per message sent. At high volumes, the cost per send is higher than email, which typically runs on a flat monthly rate. That's why SMS is best reserved for high-value, time-sensitive messages where the engagement premium justifies the cost. Textedly plans start at $26 per month, which keeps SMS affordable for most businesses at typical send volumes.
Strict Compliance Requirements
SMS requires explicit written opt-in under TCPA. You cannot import an email list and start texting. Subscribers have to actively choose to receive your texts, and violations carry penalties of $500 to $1,500 per message.
The good news is that Textedly handles opt-in collection and opt-out management automatically. Webforms, text keywords, and compliance tools are built into the platform. For the full breakdown, see our SMS compliance guide.
Frequency Sensitivity
SMS feels more personal than email, which means over-messaging burns trust faster. Sending too often is the quickest way to lose SMS subscribers.
Best practice: 2 to 4 promotional messages per month. Transactional messages, like confirmations, reminders, and shipping updates, can run more often without the same fatigue risk. Customers actually want those.
Pros of Email Marketing
Email is still a powerful channel for the right kinds of campaigns. Here's where it shines.
Ideal for Storytelling and Long-Form Content
Email gives businesses the space to tell a story, explain a complex offer, or educate customers across multiple sections. Welcome sequences, product launches, and educational drip campaigns all live here. There's no character constraint, and no pressure to get to the point in sentence one.
Flexible Design and Branding
Email supports rich HTML layouts, branded colors, custom fonts, embedded images, and multiple CTAs. That makes it the most visually customizable direct marketing channel out there. For brand-building campaigns where look and feel matter, email is hard to beat.
Built-In Segmentation and Automation
Modern email platforms support sophisticated behavioral triggers, branching logic, and audience segmentation based on purchase history, demographics, and engagement signals. Complex nurture sequences with 5, 10, or 20 steps are native to email in a way SMS isn't yet built to match.
Cost-Effective at High Volume
Email is typically priced on a flat monthly model. Sending to 100,000 subscribers costs about the same as sending to 10,000, so at scale, cost per send is fractions of a cent. For large lists and high-frequency sends where urgency is low, email is the most cost-efficient channel.
Cons of Email Marketing
Like any channel, email has its weaknesses. Let's take a look at the trade-offs.
Low and Declining Open Rates
The average email open rate is between 20% and 37%, which means the majority of your list never sees a given message. Crowded inboxes, promotional tabs, and aggressive spam filtering have made attention harder to earn every year.
For time-sensitive messages, that's a problem. SMS helps fill the gap with its 90 to 98% open rate.
Easy to Ignore, Delay, or Delete
Even when an email lands in the inbox, it competes with dozens of others. Readers defer, skim, or delete without opening. That's the kind of behavior SMS naturally cuts through.
Requires Design and Production Resources
A well-executed email campaign needs copywriting, design, template building, and testing across email clients and devices. For businesses without a dedicated marketing team, the production overhead adds up.
Spam Filtering and Deliverability Risk
Email deliverability has to be earned. Sender reputation, content quality, and list hygiene all affect whether your message reaches the inbox or the spam folder. SMS, on the other hand, is delivered directly to the recipient's phone. With proper A2P 10DLC registration, SMS deliverability lands close to 100%.
Key Differences Between SMS and Email Marketing
Both channels are valuable, and they're not interchangeable. Here's how they compare across the dimensions that matter most when you're choosing where to invest.

Use Cases
Each channel has its sweet spot.
- Use SMS for: flash sales, limited-time promotions, appointment reminders, order and shipping updates, back-in-stock alerts, abandoned cart follow-ups, two-factor authentication, VIP early access, and re-engagement.
- Use email for: welcome and onboarding series, newsletters, product launches, educational content, lead nurturing, post-purchase follow-up, and multi-tiered promotions.
Engagement
SMS open rates (90 to 98%) aren't a small improvement over email (20 to 37%). They represent a different kind of relationship with the reader's attention.
It's worth noting that SMS lists are typically smaller and more intentional than email lists, so high SMS engagement is partly a reflection of the audience and not just the channel.
Cost and ROI
Email wins on cost per send at scale. Flat monthly pricing makes large email campaigns very cost-efficient.
SMS wins on ROI per message, generating $21 to $71 per $1 spent compared to email's $10 to $42 per $1. The per-message cost is higher, but the return per message is higher too. The right comparison is what each channel returns per dollar invested.
Message Frequency
Customers expect more frequent emails than texts. Email supports daily or weekly sends without the same fatigue risk.
SMS should be used more selectively. 2 to 4 promotional texts per month is the typical comfort range. Transactional messages, like confirmations and reminders, are exempt. Customers want those.
Delivery and Reach
SMS delivers instantly and doesn't require an internet connection. Email requires internet access and is subject to spam filtering and inbox placement.
When sent through a compliant, registered sender, SMS deliverability is near 100%. Email deliverability varies based on sender reputation and content quality.

Should You Use SMS, Email, or Both?
For most businesses, the answer is both. The trick is knowing which channel does which job best.
When to Use SMS Marketing
Reach for SMS when speed and visibility matter most. That includes:
- Time-sensitive communications that need to be seen in the next hour
- Appointment reminders and confirmations to cut down no-shows
- Flash sales, limited-time offers, and last-chance reminders
- Order confirmations, shipping alerts, and delivery notifications
- Back-in-stock and restock notifications
- Abandoned cart recovery where speed matters
- Two-way customer service conversations
- VIP and loyalty program moments, like early access, exclusive offers, and birthday rewards
- Re-engagement of lapsed customers with a direct, personal touch
For more on how SMS plays out in practice, see our guide to text marketing for small businesses.
When to Use Email Marketing
Reach for email when depth and design matter most. That includes:
- Welcome series to onboard new customers and establish your brand
- Newsletters with company updates, content, and longer-form storytelling
- Product launches that need detailed explanation, multiple images, and rich design
- Educational content like how-to guides, tutorials, and best practices
- Lead nurturing campaigns with branching logic based on behavior
- Post-purchase follow-up, like care instructions, related products, and review requests
- Customer re-engagement with lapsed subscribers over a longer time horizon
- Multi-tiered promotions with various options and pricing
When to Combine SMS and Email Marketing
The most effective campaigns often use both channels together. Email handles context and depth, and SMS handles urgency and follow-through.
Here are a few sequences that work well:
- Abandoned cart: Email sends first with a full cart summary and product images. SMS follows 2 to 3 hours later if there's no action: "Your cart is waiting. Offer expires tonight."
- Product launch: Email announces the launch with full editorial detail. SMS sends a last-chance reminder on the final day.
- Re-engagement: Email delivers a "we miss you" message with a soft offer. SMS follows with a direct link and urgency copy.
- Event promotion: Email delivers event details and registration. SMS sends a reminder 24 hours before.
You can also use email to grow your SMS list. Create an SMS-only offer and promote it via email. Your email subscribers convert into SMS subscribers, which is a higher-intent audience that tends to engage more. Tools like SMS drip campaigns and automated text messages make sequencing hands-off once it's set up.
Compliance, Consent, and Customer Expectations
Both channels require explicit opt-in consent before you send marketing messages. That's the law under CAN-SPAM (email), TCPA (SMS), and GDPR (EU and UK subscribers).
For SMS specifically, customers have to expressly agree to receive marketing texts. Pre-checked boxes and inferred consent don't qualify, and violations carry penalties of $500 to $1,500 per message under TCPA.
Building a Compliant SMS List
A few ways to grow your SMS list the right way:
- Use clear opt-in methods: text keywords ("Text DEALS to 555-888"), website sign-up forms, checkout opt-in checkboxes, or point-of-sale signups
- Include required disclosures: every opt-in needs to clearly disclose message frequency, message and data rates, and easy opt-out instructions (STOP to unsubscribe)
- Automate opt-out handling: Textedly removes subscribers from your list immediately when they text STOP, so there's no manual cleanup
- Register for A2P 10DLC: required in the US for mass SMS, and unregistered campaigns face carrier filtering and delivery failures
For the full breakdown, see our SMS compliance guide and the webforms overview.
Message Frequency and Avoiding Subscriber Fatigue
Here's a quick rule of thumb for how often to send:
- Promotional SMS: 2 to 4 messages per month is the comfort range. Beyond that, unsubscribes start climbing.
- Transactional SMS: confirmations, reminders, and updates are welcome at higher frequencies because customers want them.
- Email: more flexibility here. Weekly sends are standard for many industries, and daily is acceptable for time-sensitive businesses like e-commerce flash sales.
- Watch your unsubscribe rate. It's the leading indicator. A spike usually signals frequency or relevance problems.
How to Get Started With SMS Alongside Email
If you're already running email and adding SMS, here's a practical way to get started.
Step 1: Choose Your SMS Use Case First
Don't start by importing your full email list. Start by identifying the one campaign type where SMS will have the most impact for your business.
- Service businesses: start with appointment reminders. You'll see measurable ROI within weeks.
- Retail and e-commerce: start with flash promotions or abandoned cart recovery.
- B2C brands with loyalty programs: start with VIP early access texts.
- Any business: order and shipping notifications are a great place to begin. Customers love them, and opt-out rates are near zero.
Step 2: Build Your SMS Subscriber List
You can't import email contacts to use for SMS. SMS requires a fresh opt-in. A few ways to start collecting one:
- Add a text keyword to your website, receipts, social profiles, and email campaigns
- Add an SMS opt-in checkbox to your checkout flow or sign-up form
- Promote a subscriber-only SMS offer via email: "Text JOIN to 555-888 for exclusive text-only deals."
- Use webforms to collect opt-ins directly from your site
Step 3: Send Your First Campaign
A few tips for getting that first text out the door:
- Write a clear, concise message. Get to the point in the first sentence. No subject line needed.
- Include one CTA and one link. Keep it under 160 characters when possible. Use Textedly's 300+ character option when you need more.
- Send at the right time. Evenings and weekends usually work well for promotional SMS. Weekday mornings work for appointment reminders and B2B.
- Track your results. Open rates, click-through rates, and opt-out rates are the indicators to watch.
If you need a starting point, browse our collection of SMS business templates for ready-to-go examples.
When you're ready to launch, Textedly is built for both SMS and MMS campaigns. Plans start at $26 per month, with a free trial, no contract, and no credit card required to start. Create your account and send your first campaign in minutes.
FAQs About SMS vs. Email Marketing
Is SMS Marketing Better Than Email Marketing?
Neither is universally better. They're optimized for different jobs. SMS wins on open rates, response rates, and time-sensitive engagement. Email wins on depth, design, scalability, and cost at volume.
The most effective marketing programs use both. Email handles context and nurture. SMS handles urgency and direct action.
What Are the Open Rates for SMS vs. Email?
SMS has a 90 to 98% open rate, with 80 to 95% of messages read within 3 to 5 minutes of delivery. Email averages 20 to 37%, and emails are often read hours later or not at all.
One thing to note: SMS lists are usually smaller and more intentional than email lists, which is part of why the gap is so big. It's a good idea to compare revenue per contact and not just open rates.
How Much Does SMS Marketing Cost Compared to Email?
SMS typically costs $0.01 to $0.05 per message. Textedly starts at $26 per month with no contracts. Email runs at fractions of a cent per send at scale on flat monthly pricing.
On ROI, SMS generates $21 to $71 per $1 spent. Email generates $10 to $42 per $1. SMS has a higher ceiling when executed well, at a higher per-message cost.
Can I Use SMS and Email Marketing Together?
Yes, and it's where most businesses see the biggest gains. Use email for context, storytelling, and depth. Use SMS for urgency, immediacy, and follow-through.
Common pairings include abandoned cart (email first, SMS follow-up), product launch (email announcement, SMS last-chance), and events (email details, SMS reminder 24 hours before).
What Are the Compliance Requirements for SMS Marketing?
SMS requires explicit written opt-in under TCPA in the US. Customers have to actively agree to receive marketing texts, and you can't import an email list to use for SMS.
Email requires a clear unsubscribe mechanism (CAN-SPAM) and affirmative consent for EU subscribers (GDPR). For both channels, never send to customers who have opted out. Respect preferences right away.
For more, see our SMS compliance guide.
How Do I Get People to Opt Into SMS Marketing?
A few methods that work well:
- Text keywords ("Text DEALS to 555-888")
- Website sign-up forms
- Checkout checkboxes
- Point-of-sale signups
- Email promotion of an SMS-only offer
The most effective growth tactic is the last one. Promote an SMS-subscriber-only offer to your existing email list and turn email subscribers into SMS subscribers. See text keywords and webforms for the tactical setup.

TxtCart is built specifically for Shopify and Shopify Plus merchants. Its focus is abandoned cart recovery and revenue-driven, AI-powered two-way SMS conversations, rather than traditional bulk messaging.

Textedly vs. TxtCart In-Depth Comparisons
1. Pricing Breakdown
Textedly offers cost certainty; TxtCart’s commission-based model fluctuates with recovered Shopify revenue.
TxtCart is the go-to for Shopify brands laser-focused on ROI through cart recovery, though the performance-based commission can make costs unpredictable as sales scale. This model is ideal for teams that want a "done-for-you" revenue boost and don't mind sharing a slice of the recovered profits.
Textedly provides a better solution for businesses needing cost certainty and straightforward mass communication without hidden performance fees. Its transparent, tier-based subscription ensures you always know your overhead while scaling lower-volume messaging or massive campaigns effortlessly.
“Textedly provides effortless mass messaging with minor cost hurdles"
“Textedly was incredibly easy to use and facilitated quick sending of reminders for our upcoming calls, events at conferences, and other reminders… Textedly is particularly efficient for organizations that frequently communicate with the same audience, making it much easier for us to maintain consistent and direct contact. I also like how seamless it was to integrate with our existing tools”

2. Core Messaging Features
Now let’s compare Textedly and TxtCart head-to-head. While both offer core SMS capabilities, they differ meaningfully in focus, product design, and how features are packaged and priced. Those differences matter—especially depending on whether your goal is broad, high-volume messaging or revenue-driven eCommerce automation.

3. User Sentiment
Textedly earns loyalty through simplicity; TxtCart is valued as a Shopify “money printer.”
TxtCart excels for Shopify brands wanting a "money printer" for recovered sales via human-like AI conversations, but the high commission percentages can feel like a steep price to pay for that automation. It’s built for merchants moving away from static SMS blasts who need instant 24/7 live chat to handle complex international setups.
Textedly offers a better solution for teams that prioritize an easy-to-use interface and reliable SMS delivery without the polarizing revenue-sharing model. By focusing on quick setup and hands-on campaign assistance, it provides the intuitive workflow and consistent ROI needed to maintain long-term lead engagement and communication.
“Simplicity and effective communication with Textedly”
“I love Textedly for its simplicity, which makes using the software easy and straightforward. The blast texting feature, in particular, stands out due to its ease of use, enabling me to efficiently send messages to people. These aspects of Textedly make it a reliable and highly functional tool for my communication needs.”
– Ryan S., Lead Driver Recruiter (G2)
4. Automation & Workflows
Textedly provides hands-on control; TxtCart uses autonomous AI for set-and-forget recovery.
TxtCart is ideal for Shopify brands seeking a set-and-forget engine, using AI-native agents to handle objections in real-time and automate revenue recovery. While highly efficient for high-volume merchants, like win-back series, this autopilot approach offers less granular control over every interaction.
Textedly provides a solution for businesses wanting hands-on control and full creative authority over their SMS strategy. By utilizing integrated AI content generation, time-delayed drip campaigns, and customizable keyword triggers, it empowers teams to drive leads with a clear and predictable feature set.
CottageCare scaled SMS across 40+ locations with Textedly, driving 2–3 extra sales per week at some branches and cutting outreach time significantly. They now use MMS promos, templates, and keywords to send consistent on-brand messages and booking reminders in seconds.
Result: faster bookings, consistent branding, and hundreds of customers reached instantly, all from one platform — that’s the power of automation.

5. Compliance & Reliability
Textedly offers web-based reliability; TxtCart automates Shopify-specific GDPR and TCPA compliance.
TxtCart caters specifically to Shopify merchants needing a native app that automates TCPA/GDPR compliance and uses branded SafeLinks to bypass carrier filtering. However, its deep focus on conversational cart recovery may be overkill for brands that just need reliable, high-volume mass messaging.
Textedly is the stronger alternative for businesses prioritizing consistent delivery and secure text-to-pay features across a simple, web-based platform. It offers a clear, dependable path to 98% open rates with robust compliance support for opt-ins and carrier guidelines, ensuring your messages actually reach your audience every time.
6. AI Features
Textedly assists drafting; TxtCart’s autonomous agents handle entire 1:1 sales conversations end-to-end.
TxtCart acts as an autonomous AI sales agent that handles real-time objections with minimal oversight, though this "autopilot" mode removes the human touch from initial chats. It is perfect for Shopify brands needing instant AI replies that leverage historical help articles for accuracy.
Textedly provides a superior solution for brands that want AI-assisted drafting while keeping humans in the loop for oversight and setup. By offering AI Voice Agents and ChatGPT integration, it rapidly increases communication speed while maintaining a personalized brand voice.
“I love [Textedly’s]... AI assistance with writing a message."
“It's incredibly easy to use and implement! I love the reporting capabilities, the messaging, the AI assistance with writing a message. What isn't there to love about the platform. It's a massive upgrade from our previous service! The customer support is outstanding and incredibly responsive!”

While TxtCart's AI is more sophisticated for e-commerce use cases, Textedly's AI tools are more accessible and applicable across diverse business types and industries.
“Textedly is best for marketing and review management”
“Textedly allows you to really customize the campaigns you're sending, who you're sending them to, when they go out, and much more. We have retained many customers and generated revenue from Textedly. We recently upgraded for more messages and the review management dashboard, very excited to use it!”
– Joleen S., Senior Marketing Director (G2)
8. Integration Ecosystem
Textedly connects 3,000+ apps; TxtCart integrates deeply within a Shopify-exclusive tech stack.
TxtCart is a niche Shopify-only tool that can feel restrictive for brands with diverse tech stacks. Because its API is gated behind premium tiers, scaling custom data flows often leads to increased overhead and technical bottlenecks.
Textedly offers a more powerful, all-inclusive suite with 3,000+ native integrations available on all plans. Its open API and Zapier support enable seamless automation across your entire business, making it the better choice for high-growth brands that need immediate flexibility.
9. Conversion & List-Building Tools
Textedly drives rapid monetization; TxtCart scales Shopify revenue through AI-led cart recovery.
TxtCart is best for Shopify-only teams looking specifically to automate recovery-driven revenue via human-like chat. However, its narrow focus on abandoned carts and limited list-building tools make it difficult for brands to scale a comprehensive, full-funnel marketing strategy.
Textedly is the superior choice for high-growth marketing teams that need to monetize quickly across any industry. By combining real-time Text-to-Pay with unlimited contacts and 65+ ready-to-use templates, it provides a scalable, all-in-one growth engine for rapid list building and instant revenue.
“Textedly has made my business more money!”
“... Now I can connect directly with my customers in seconds. Whether it’s letting them know which rodeos and barrel races I’ll be at or sending instant gallery updates, Textedly keeps my audience in the loop without the stress.
It’s quick, simple, and has saved me so much time. My clients love it because they never miss an announcement, and I love it because it’s helped me grow engagement and sales. Highly recommend it for any small business that wants a direct line to their customers!”
– Chelsey S., Photographer/Videographer (G2)
10. Support & Resources
Textedly provides strategic marketing guides; TxtCart offers 24/7/365 live chat for technical help.
TxtCart works well for always-on Shopify brands that need 24/7/365 tech support to keep their revenue flowing. While it offers dedicated account managers on higher tiers, its niche focus on e-commerce ROI can feel a bit narrow for teams needing broader marketing guidance.
Textedly is the better move for professional marketing teams that value a massive library of industry-specific resources and reliable expert access. By providing consistent 7-day-a-week support and deep educational tools, it gives brands the strategic foundation they need to scale complex SMS campaigns with total confidence.
“Textedly is an effortless platform with outstanding customer support”
“The platform is incredibly easy to use, and whenever I need assistance, their customer service representatives have consistently been a valuable resource.”
– Marah M., Safety Specialist (G2)

Key Considerations When Choosing an SMS Platform
The best SMS platform for your business depends on many key factors, each of which should be considered before choosing a provider. Keep these key factors in mind:
- Use case fit. Whether you're sending time-sensitive alerts or customer service updates, your SMS platform should support your core communication needs.
- Cost. Don't just compare monthly fees. Consider how message limits, overage charges, user fees, and included features will affect your total cost over time.
- Technical integrations. Make sure the platform integrates with the systems you already use.
- Ease of use. The most powerful platform won't help you connect with customers if your team struggles just to use it. A clean interface, intuitive tools, and fast setup can go a long way in driving adoption and consistency.
- Customer support. From onboarding to campaign troubleshooting, timely and knowledgeable support can save your team hours and prevent costly mistakes.
- Compliance. Look for built-in tools and guidance to help you navigate TCPA regulations, 10DLC registration, and opt-in management.
Final Verdict: Textedly vs. TxtCart — Who Wins?
If your priority is efficiency, scale, and simplicity for mass texting, Textedly has the edge. It’s built around the core strengths of SMS marketing: sending bulk messages, reminders, announcements, and promos to large contact lists without friction. With transparent pricing (starting around $26/month) and flexible plans, it’s easier to predict costs and scale as your messaging volume grows.
Textedly also covers the essentials most small-to-medium businesses need, without overcomplicating things. You get scheduled and recurring messages, MMS, contact segmentation, basic automation like auto-replies and drip campaigns, plus SMS payment requests—all in a clean, easy-to-use interface.
TxtCart, on the other hand, is more specialized. It’s designed primarily for eCommerce cart recovery and revenue-focused SMS flows. That works well if your goal is driving Shopify sales, but it’s less flexible for general bulk messaging or non-commerce campaigns. Pricing and usage are closely tied to sales activity, which can make costs harder to predict for broader outreach.
Bottom line: if you need dependable, high-volume SMS campaigns without being locked into eCommerce-only workflows, Textedly is the more flexible and cost-predictable choice. For scheduled campaigns, reminders, promos, and occasional payments via text, it strikes a solid balance between power and simplicity.

TextMagic — Who Wins?
If your business prioritizes efficiency, scale, and simplicity for mass texting, Textedly has the edge. It’s designed around high-volume SMS use cases like announcements, reminders, and promotions, with built-in tools that reduce setup time and ongoing management. Its plan-based pricing model makes costs easier to predict as messaging volume grows.
Textedly also covers the essentials most SMBs need without excess complexity: scheduled and recurring messages, MMS, contact lists and segmentation, basic automation (such as auto-replies and drip campaigns), and SMS payment requests—all accessible through a clean, non-technical interface.
TextMagic, on the other hand, operates on a pay-as-you-go model and shines in scenarios where custom workflows, API access, or international messaging control are more important than turnkey campaigns. However, its per-message pricing and lighter built-in marketing automation can require more manual effort—and closer cost monitoring—at higher volumes.
In short, if your goal is dependable, high-volume SMS campaigns with minimal setup and predictable pricing, Textedly is the more streamlined choice. If you need developer-level control, custom integrations, or usage-based billing—and are comfortable trading simplicity for flexibility—TextMagic may be the better fit.

Disclaimer: The features and pricing mentioned are accurate as of February 2026 and may have changed since publication.
Before diving into the side-by-side comparison, here’s a quick look at what each platform is built for.
Textedly is a standalone SMS marketing platform focused on simplicity and flexibility. It supports mass texting, scheduled and recurring campaigns, list segmentation, and two-way messaging across many industries—without relying on a specific eCommerce platform.
TxtCart is built specifically for Shopify and Shopify Plus merchants. Its focus is abandoned cart recovery and revenue-driven, AI-powered two-way SMS conversations, rather than traditional bulk messaging.
In short, Textedly is designed for general-purpose SMS marketing, while TxtCart is optimized for Shopify-based eCommerce sales recovery.

6. AI Features
Textedly uses ChatGPT for creative drafting; TextMagic AI strictly uses internal data.

While the "Validate and Send" system requires manual approval for every draft, this ensures responses are grounded in a specific knowledge base rather than general web data. It is the functional choice for organizations prioritizing data privacy and accurate, polished SMS/email replies.
Textedly excels at accelerating customer communication by using ChatGPT to rapidly draft and personalize creative SMS campaigns. It offers a superior edge for sales and support with AI Voice Agents that handle voice-to-voice interactions to reduce response times.

Textedly offers 3,000+ plug-and-play connections; TextMagic relies on manual API/Zapier configuration.
TextMagic serves technical teams requiring a documented REST API for custom gateway functionalities. While it offers multi-channel flexibility, it involves more setup complexity and potential external costs due to its heavy reliance on Zapier for CRM connectivity.
Textedly excels by providing immediate access to over 3,000+ native integrations included in all plans at no extra cost. It is the superior choice for businesses wanting a seamless workflow and easy setup without the manual configuration or costs associated with external API-driven tools.

Textedly drives revenue via Text-to-Pay; TextMagic converts leads through shared inbox conversations.
TextMagic is a functional pick for teams prioritizing personal follow-ups via a shared inbox and two-way chat. Textedly excels at driving revenue by pairing unlimited contacts with a built-in text-to-pay system for real-time processing. It provides a superior, automated path to conversion using 65+ ready-to-use templates, making it the better solution for brands looking to monetize quickly and scale high-volume lists effortlessly.

– Chelsey S., Photographer/Videographer (G2)
10. Support & Resources
Textedly provides dedicated 7-day human support; TextMagic prioritizes self-serve technical documentation.
TextMagic prioritizes a self-serve experience, offering extensive API guides and video tutorials for tech-savvy teams. While it provides 24-hour email support, its phone availability is more restricted and primarily structured around UTC time zones. It is a functional choice for those who prefer technical documentation over high-touch human intervention.
Textedly excels with dedicated 7-day human support via phone, email, and a unique text-for-help option. Representatives are frequently praised for timely replies and hands-on guidance during both setup and active campaigns. This makes it the superior solution for businesses needing consistent, person-to-person support to scale their SMS strategy.

“This simplicity helps my nonprofit organization efficiently manage communication with around 1,200 members of our faith-based community… The setup process was quite straightforward, as we were able to transfer a list of names and numbers from our database, although some hurdles were present due to home phone numbers not working for texting. The customer service was commendable, providing helpful assistance throughout the setup process.”
— Paul L., Admin (G2)
“Outstanding support and effortless onboarding experience”
“We loved the customer service and text support - those are the first things that come to mind, because they were so much above what you usually get with an app. The onboarding process was a breeze, answering all our questions and getting us up and running without any issues… When it was up and running, we had it on full blast with no issues.”

EZ Texting— Who Wins?

Textedly + OpenAI GPT-4.1
The Future of AI-Powered Customer Conversations Is Already Here
At Textedly, we believe the next era of business communication won’t be defined by messaging platforms — it will be defined by AI autonomous resolution, and sales and marketing systems that earn and protect a customer’s trust in real time.
That’s why Textedly has been architected for the now and future as an AI-native messaging and customer-centric platform, not just a texting tool. And today, with the rollout of OpenAI’s GPT-4.1 into Textedly’s production environment, that future just accelerated again.
GPT-4.1 is now live powering real conversations inside Textedly, powering our AI Agents, with automatic workflow execution. This is not a demo. This is not experimental. It is relentlessly resolving real customer service problems — faster, more accurately, and with more trust — right now. It is actively converting more leads — selling faster, with higher buying intent, and with dramatically less friction — right now.
Why GPT-4.1 Matters — and Why Most Companies Can’t Use It Properly
GPT-4.1 is not just an upgrade. It represents a leap in clarity, structured reasoning, multilingual precision, and live execution reliability. But here’s the key:
GPT-4.1 only creates business value if it sits inside a system built to control it — not just display its words.
Where other service providers are still “adding AI to chat,” Textedly has already built the AI operating stack that GPT-4.1 plugs directly into:
- AI intent layer that decides when to act or when to escalate
- Workflow execution engine that converts language into structured action
- Precision knowledge scaffolding to prevent hallucination
- Structured system around the AI that directs how it should think and act.
- Real-time safety governance — before every action is taken
- Live telemetry & AI performance monitoring — every message, every millisecond
Textedly is not experimenting. We are deploying AI safely, live, and at scale. 24/7 working just for you!
Why GPT-4.1 Immediately Elevates Textedly
Unlike traditional chat-based AI, GPT-4.1 brings a new level of precision, memory, and proactive reasoning that directly enhances the way Textedly resolves and converts customer interactions.
With GPT-4.1 now powering key parts of our AI engine, Textedly gains:
- Sharper intent intelligence — better understanding of vague or complex customer inputs
- More confident autonomous decision-making — fewer premature escalations and smoother outcomes
- Greater workflow reliability — executes multi-step actions with stronger structure and persistence
- Higher-value agent assistance — real-time suggestions that are more relevant, on-brand, and outcome-focused
- Faster build → deploy → learn cycle — accelerating how quickly we ship and improve AI-powered experiences
This is the difference between AI that “responds” — and AI that strategically drives business outcomes in real time.
Do Not Mistake This for “Chatbot Stuff”
GPT-4.1 at Textedly is being used as a live reasoning system inside a controlled enterprise framework.
We deploy it surgically across high-value resolution layers:
- Clarifying vague customer intent — before things go off track
- Running structured multi-step workflows (PCA / PEA)
- Autonomous first-response + safe escalation in dual AI + human workflows
- Agent assist that anticipates, not reacts
- Multi-turn retrieval from deep context — without losing state
It is not “chat”. It’s autonomous customer protection and revenue preservation — executed in milliseconds.
Why This Matters for Your Business
Textedly customers immediately benefit from GPT-4.1 — without lifting a finger.
- Faster resolutions → fewer abandoned sessions
- Fewer dropped conversations → dramatically better CSAT
- Less manual human agent intervention → lower support cost
- Stronger multilingual coverage → international scale unlocked
- Build → test → deploy velocity increased → AI innovation speed compounding
Every new AI intelligence layer we deploy is measured by a single, unforgiving standard: Does it help our customers grow?
That means faster resolutions, yes — but also faster conversions. Every improvement must either remove friction from support or add velocity to sales. If an AI feature doesn’t make conversations better, clearer, or more profitable, it doesn’t make the cut.
GPT-4.1 Passed That Test with Impact
GPT-4.1 enables Textedly to handle more customer interactions with precision, surface smarter upsell opportunities in real time, and deliver the kind of trust-driven experiences that turn support conversations into closed deals.
In short, GPT-4.1 doesn’t just help our customers solve problems — it helps them sell more, keep more customers, and grow faster.
What’s Next for
We will continue to test and selectively activate new foundation models the moment they prove real-world value — not theoretical intelligence. Textedly’s AI stack has been engineered precisely for this: rapid model evolution, safely tested, and deployed within days not months.
The frontier moves fast.
Textedly is already there — safely operating in the future today.

iOS 26 Is Here: What SMS Marketers Should Know
A big change is coming to iPhone users’ SMS inboxes with the launch of iOS 26 on Sept. 15.
Apple’s latest iOS update introduces several improvements for users, including an enhanced message filtering system that has caught the attention of marketers everywhere.
For companies using SMS as a key touchpoint with customers, it’s important to understand how these changes may impact SMS campaigns and take preparations.
For this article, we spoke with Textedly’s Product Manager Stew Frazier to understand what’s changing, the expected impact, and what clients can do to protect their SMS read rates.
What’s Changing With iOS 26?
Apple has long offered an opt-in feature for Messages called “Filter Unknown Senders.” In iOS 26, this inbox filtering is getting enhanced with a “Screen Unknown Senders,” feature that offers iPhone users more advanced controls. Here are the core changes to know:
- Filtering only applies to unknown senders: When enabled, the new filtering will prevent texts from “unknown” contacts from appearing in a user’s main message list. It will instead add them to an Unknown Senders folder. Apple defines “Unknown Senders” as contacts who are not in a user’s contact list or have never received a response from the sender.
- The screening filter is turned off by default: Just because users download iOS 26 doesn’t mean messages get filtered. This new filtering functionality is disabled by default, meaning Apple users would need to first enable it in their settings.
- Filtering offers category controls: Users can customize notifications for Unknown Senders, Transactions, Promotions, and Spam messages. This gives users better control over when and how they’re notified of messages via their mobile device.
- Time-sensitive exceptions: Verification codes like 2FA or urgent alerts will appear in the main inbox for up to one hour if this option is selected.
- Unknown senders folder is easier to access: Apple is making a design and UX change to make the unknown sender folder easier to access from the main messaging app.
This enhanced filtering system is Apple’s response to consumers’ growing concern over spam and unwanted messages.
3 Core Ways Your Business Can Prepare for iOS 26
The best way to ensure that your SMS campaign results don’t suffer with the new filtering system is to become a known sender. If you’re flagged as a known sender, your contacts will be notified of your message and your texts will show up in the contact's main message folder.
Here are three core ways to improve your ability to show up as a known sender to contacts.
1. Get Contacts to Text You First or Opt In Using a Keyword
Textedly Product Manager Stew Fraizer says that the “impact would be minimal to contacts that opt in via a keyword.”
That’s because if a customer reaches out to your SMS number first, it will signal to Apple that you are a known sender. Textedly's text-to-join functionality helps brands achieve this. You simply need to encourage contacts to text your brand to opt into messaging.
To encourage customers to text you first you could:
- Run a keyword opt-in advertisement. (Ex: Text BOOK NOW to 888-928-2042 to get 10% off your booking.)
- Publicize your SMS number on your website. (Ex: Text us at 443-670-1498 for your custom pricing quote.)
- Add a click-to-text button to Instagram or your other social media profiles to encourage more subscribers.
- Put a QR code near your register that initiates a text to you from a contact’s phone.
2. Encourage Customers to Reply
For contacts who did not opt in via keyword, Fraizer advises users to “proactively reach out to those contacts and attempt to incentivize them to text back by offering promotions or discounts that can be claimed by responding to a message.”
Apple specifies that brands engaging in two-way conversations via text will be classified as Known senders. As a result, encourage your customers to reply to your messages in an effort to bypass this filtering system. Two-way conversations have plenty of benefits, including increased customer engagement and true relationship building.
3. Incorporate “Add Contact” Language Into Welcome Flows
Another way to ensure you’re a known sender is to get contacts to add you to their contact list. You can simply work this language into your SMS marketing workflows. If your contact information is saved, you won’t hit the Unknown Sender filter.
For example: Hi Jenny! Thanks for signing up for our SMS program. To ensure you don’t miss texts, exclusive deals, or important updates from us, save our contact information today!

How to Automate Text Messages for Your Business
Text message automation helps businesses save time, improve customer engagement, and ensure no lead falls through the cracks. Whether you’re running a service-based business, a retail store, or a real estate agency, automating your SMS workflow can boost efficiency and results.
Step-by-Step: How to Automate Business Text Messaging
1. Define Your SMS Goals
Start by identifying the purpose of your text automation. Common goals include:
- Sending appointment reminders
- Notifying customers of promotions or events
- Following up with leads
- Gathering feedback after service
Knowing your objectives helps shape your messaging flow and content.
2. Map Out Key Triggers
Automation runs on triggers—actions or timings that prompt a text. Common examples:
- A new lead form submission
- A scheduled appointment time
- An abandoned cart in eCommerce
- A completed purchase
Document when and why each message should be sent.
3. Write Effective Message Templates
Craft concise, actionable texts tailored to each trigger. Keep messages under 160 characters when possible. Include:
- Clear instructions or next steps
- Personalization (e.g., first names)
- Links for further action (scheduling, confirming, etc.)
Example: Hi John, your appointment with AC Cleaners is set for Wed at 2 p.m. Questions? Reply here or visit [link].
4. Set Up Scheduling Rules
Decide when messages should go out. Options include:
- Immediately after the trigger
- 24 hours in advance for reminders
- A few days post-purchase for follow-ups
Avoid sending messages during off-hours (e.g., early morning or late night).
5. Test Your Automation Flows
Before going live, simulate user actions and verify:
- Timing accuracy
- Message clarity
- Link functionality
Make adjustments based on test results to ensure a seamless user experience.
6. Monitor and Optimize
Track performance metrics such as:
- Open and response rates
- Click-throughs
- Unsubscribes
Use this data to refine your copy, timing, and triggers over time.
Final Tips for Success
- Keep opt-in and opt-out processes clear and compliant.
- Don’t overload customers with texts—respect frequency limits.
- Use automation to support, not replace, human connection.
Done right, SMS automation saves time and scales personalized communication. Start simple, refine steadily, and grow smarter with every interaction.

Textedly is one of the best solutions out there for automated text messaging. Here are some of the core automated messaging offerings:

- AI texting. Textedly’s AI sentiment generator helps you refine messages in the click of a button. You can change the tone to make it sound friendlier or more professional.
- Drip campaigns. Create a series of texts to drip at pre-determined intervals to your contacts. These text messages help you text automatically at the right time.

Internal SMS: Smarter Employee Communication
In a fast-paced, mobile-first world, businesses can’t afford to let internal communication fall through the cracks. Whether you’re managing a hybrid office or coordinating field staff, effective communication is essential to keep your team in the loop and operations running smoothly.
Yet, traditional channels like email or chat apps often result in missed messages and crossed wires. Emails get buried in overflowing inboxes, logins fail, and employees spend extra time clarifying missed communications. That’s why more organizations are turning to internal SMS as a direct, reliable way to reach their teams, no matter where they are.
In this guide, we’ll teach you everything you need to know about SMS for internal business communications.
What is Text Messaging for Internal Communication?
Internal SMS refers to the use of text messaging to communicate directly with employees or other internal parties, both via a mass text to all employees or on a one-to-one basis with two-way SMS. It’s a flexible solution that allows organizations to send important updates to individual team members or entire departments, without relying on email, chat platforms, or push notifications.
SMS is a valuable tool because it reaches employees directly on their phones, no login or Wi-Fi required. It can be especially useful for colleagues who aren’t always at a desk, dispersed teams, or field workers.
Internal SMS can be leveraged to send:
- Urgent alerts
- Shift changes
- Policy updates
- Security trainings
- Operating closure
- Logistics coordination
- Onboarding flows
Is Internal SMS Compliant?
Yes, with proper consent and security, texting employees is legal. It’s important to understand the compliance basics, best practices, and HR policies you’ll want to keep in place to stay on the right track.
- Get proper opt-in and document employee consent. Clear permission is key for texting employees on personal devices. Collect employee consent to receive job-related text messages.
- Follow HR policies around message storage. Consider how employee messages are logged and control who has access to them.
- Avoid sharing sensitive or personal information. SMS is not the proper channel for private HR matters or confidential data.
- Keep texts respectful and professional. Internal messages should reflect your company’s tone and values. Respect business hours when texting employees and keep communications relevant and to the point.
SMS platforms like Textedly can help your business stay compliant by offering opt-in tools, user permissions, and messaging logs.
Why Businesses are Turning to Internal SMS Over Email and Chat
As workplace communication becomes more fragmented, with a mix of hybrid, remote, and frontline employees, internal SMS offers a refreshingly simple alternative.
Unlike Slack, Teams, or other chat platforms, SMS doesn’t require an app download, user login, or stable internet connection. It reaches employees wherever they are, making it ideal for mobile-first workers, field staff, or anyone not tied to a desk. Messages are delivered directly to employees’ phones and are more likely to be seen quickly, regardless of location, role, or schedule.
And email, while still important, often suffers from overload. Important announcements can get buried beneath threads, newsletters, and spam. Text messages, on the other hand, boast a 98% open rate, with most messages read within minutes.
From time sensitive alerts to daily reminders, SMS ensures important messages don’t get lost in the shuffle.
What Industries Benefit Most From Internal SMS?
Internal SMS works across virtually every industry. Here’s how different industries are leveraging text messaging to improve internal communications and stay aligned.
Retail
Retail teams are often spread across multiple store locations and shifts, making real-time communication a challenge. With internal SMS, managers can instantly notify staff about schedule changes, shift openings, promotional updates, or new product launches.
Plus, teams can streamline coordination during peak sales periods, inventory updates, or unexpected closures, ensuring public-facing teams have the information they need to satisfy customers.
Healthcare
In the healthcare industry, it’s crucial that information be able to travel rapidly. Internal SMS helps hospitals, clinics, and care facilities share urgent updates quickly — whether it’s filling open shifts, coordinating patient care, or notifying staff of emergency situations.
Plus, texting is a HIPAA-compliant tool when used properly, making it ideal for operational messaging that doesn’t include personal health data.
Construction
Construction teams are constantly on the move, at job sites, in transit, or working outdoors with limited access to Wi-Fi. With internal SMS, project managers have a reliable way to communicate site changes, weather delays, safety protocols, and delivery changes in real time.
It’s also a great tool to keep teams up-to-date on mandatory training, inspections, and ever-changing project deadlines, all without needing to download an app or check an email in the field.
Education
For school administrators, SMS simplifies communication with faculty and staff across campuses or even districts. Educators and administrators can leverage SMS to:
- Communicate schedule changes
- Organize professional development activities
- Manage emergency closures
- Coordinate operations and events
- Notify substitute teachers when needed
- Share administrative announcements
Hospitality
From restaurants to hotels and event venues, hospitality organizations rely on fast-paced coordination. Internal SMS makes it easy to send updates about guest arrivals, room changes, event timelines, or last-minute staffing needs.
Managers can use texting to check staff availability, confirm shift assignments, or quickly resolve service issues. Internal SMS helps teams deliver exceptional guest experiences with fewer communication delays.
7 Top Use Cases for Internal SMS
No matter your industry, internal SMS helps to streamline day-to-day operations and keeps everyone aligned. Let’s look at a few ways SMS automations and workflows can make your communications easy and effective.
1. Company-Wide Updates
Keep everyone aligned with timely announcements, policy changes, or important reminders. SMS ensures that updates reach teams fast, regardless of their working location.

2. Security Trainings
Use SMS to remind employees of upcoming security or compliance sessions. These quick nudges can help boost attendance and reduce follow-up work for HR or IT teams.
Send links directing employees right to training portals to remove access barriers and increase the percentage of on-time training completions.
3. Last-Minute Shift Changes
Need to fill a shift fast? Internal SMS enables managers to contact employees instantly and confirm availability in real time.

4. Event Reminders
Ensure team members don’t forget about upcoming company events, fundraisers, or registration deadlines. A simple reminder text can help to reduce no-shows and improve participation rates while boosting excitement for the event.
5. Payroll Notifications
Let employees know when pay has been processed or send reminders for other HR-related items, such as PTO balances or approved time-off requests.

6. Onboarding Workflows
Automate a welcome series or checklist for new hires to ensure they’re set up for success when they start. Texts can include convenient links to training modules, introductions to team members, or share reminders to complete new-hire paperwork.
7. Crisis Communication
In the event of emergencies, whether it’s a power outage, inclement weather, or urgent facility issues, SMS lets you reach employees quickly and reliably.

Cyber Monday SMS Marketing Strategies [2025]
As the holiday season approaches, Cyber Monday, which falls on December 1st this year, has solidified its place as a cornerstone of eCommerce and online retail. For businesses, it's a high-stakes opportunity to capture a significant share of the year's digital shopping spree. With the rise of mobile shopping transforming consumer behavior, the role of SMS in driving sales has become increasingly pivotal. Let’s dive into why Cyber Monday is crucial for online retailers, explore the surge in mobile shopping, and uncover how SMS marketing can amplify your sales strategy.
Why SMS Marketing is Essential for Cyber Monday Success
Amidst the flurry of emails and social media ads, SMS marketing has emerged as a powerful tool for driving conversions and enhancing customer engagement. Here’s why SMS should be a cornerstone of your Cyber Monday strategy:
1. Unmatched Open Rates
One of the standout advantages of SMS marketing is its exceptional open rate. According to recent data, SMS messages have an astonishing open rate of 98%, compared to around 20% for emails. This high visibility means your promotional messages are far more likely to be seen and acted upon by potential customers. During Cyber Monday, where timely engagement can make all the difference, this immediacy is crucial.
2. Immediate Reach
SMS marketing offers unparalleled immediacy, with texts typically being read within 3 minutes of receipt. This swift delivery is ideal for Cyber Monday, where deals and promotions are time-sensitive. As shoppers flock online to snag the best bargains, your SMS campaigns can deliver flash sales, exclusive discounts, and urgent reminders directly to their mobile devices, ensuring that your offers are at the forefront of their minds.
3. Personalization and Targeting
SMS marketing allows for a high degree of personalization and segmentation. With the ability to tailor messages based on customer preferences and past behavior, you can create highly relevant offers that resonate with individual recipients. During Cyber Monday, personalized SMS messages can lead to increased engagement and higher sales, as customers are more likely to act on offers that match their interests.
Best Practices for Cyber Monday SMS Campaigns
Timing Your Messages: Timing is everything when it comes to SMS marketing, especially on a high-stakes day like Cyber Monday. To maximize your impact, it's crucial to plan your messages around peak shopping hours. Aim to send your initial SMS blasts early in the morning to catch early risers and ensure your promotions are at the top of their inboxes. Follow up with reminder messages around lunchtime and late afternoon, when shoppers are more likely to be browsing for deals. Avoid sending too many messages in a short period to prevent overwhelming your audience—strategic, well-timed messages can significantly boost your engagement and sales.
Creating a Sense of Urgency: Creating a sense of urgency is key to driving quick actions and maximizing your Cyber Monday sales. Use countdowns to highlight how much time is left for special offers or flash sales, which can motivate recipients to act quickly. Incorporate phrases like "limited-time offer" or "only a few hours left" to emphasize scarcity and encourage immediate purchases. Flash sales with exclusive discounts available only through SMS can further heighten urgency and drive conversions. By strategically leveraging these tactics, you can make your Cyber Monday promotions more compelling and effective.
Personalization and Segmentation: Personalization and segmentation are crucial for crafting SMS campaigns that truly resonate with your audience on Cyber Monday. Leverage customer data to tailor your messages based on past purchases, browsing behavior, or location, making each offer feel more relevant and compelling. Segment your audience into specific groups—such as frequent buyers, cart abandoners, or those who’ve shown interest in particular products—to deliver targeted promotions that address their unique preferences. Customizing your messages and honing in on specific segments can help you enhance engagement and drive higher conversion rates during the Cyber Monday rush.
Using SMS to Drive Traffic and Conversions on Cyber Monday
SMS is a powerful tool for guiding customers to your website or app, especially on Cyber Monday when every second counts. To effectively drive traffic and conversions, craft SMS messages that include clear, compelling calls-to-action, directing recipients straight to your landing pages or app downloads. Enhance the impact of your SMS efforts by integrating them with your broader marketing strategy and coordinate your SMS campaigns with email and social media promotions to ensure a cohesive and omnichannel approach. For instance, use SMS to deliver exclusive, time-sensitive offers that complement your email campaigns, and promote these offers across your social media channels for maximum reach. Additionally, leverage SMS to recover abandoned carts by sending gentle reminders or personalized incentives to customers who left items behind, encouraging them to complete their purchase.

Measuring the Success of Your Cyber Monday SMS Campaign
To gauge the effectiveness of your Cyber Monday SMS campaign, it's essential to track key metrics that provide insight into its performance. Start by monitoring open rates to determine how many recipients are engaging with your messages. Given that SMS typically has high open rates, this will help you assess initial interest. Next, evaluate click-through rates (CTR) to see how many users followed the links in your messages, which will indicate the effectiveness of your call-to-action. Conversion rates are equally crucial, as they show the percentage of recipients who completed a purchase or took the desired action. Additionally, track opt-out rates to ensure your messages aren’t overwhelming or irrelevant. Leveraging these insights helps you continuously improve your SMS marketing approach, driving even greater success in future promotions.

5 Best Practices for Crafting Effective Thanksgiving Texts
When it comes to sending Thanksgiving SMS messages, timing, tone, and frequency are crucial factors that can significantly impact how customers and employees feel about the message. Here are some tips to keep in mind:
- Ensure optimal timing. Timing your Thanksgiving texts effectively is essential. The best time will depend on your industry and messaging use case. However, you should generally send promotional SMS messages a few days before Thanksgiving day to capture attention and encourage early shopping. This window allows customers to consider any exclusive offers or promotions you may have. If you send a general Happy Thanksgiving message to clients, send it a day before or the morning of Thanksgiving. By strategically timing your messages, you can enhance their impact and ensure your customers feel valued during this festive season.
- Personalize. Whenever possible, include the customer’s name in a Thanksgiving message. This helps demonstrate that you value them as individuals rather than just transactions. You should also segment your audience list to help you send relevant promotional messages that resonate. This helps create meaningful interactions that increase loyalty and satisfaction during the Thanksgiving holiday and beyond.
- Keep it short and simple. Standard SMS messages are 160 characters. This makes it imperative that you keep your texts short and simple. Additionally, customers appreciate brevity, especially during a busy season filled with activities and distractions. Aim for clear language and focus on a single message or offer to avoid confusion.
- Include a clear call to action. Effective Thanksgiving marketing messages will contain a CTA. This encourages customers to visit your website and take advantage of the discount. By combining festive messaging with an enticing CTA, you’re likely to see better results.
- Use the right tone. Another core element of an effective thanksgiving message for clients and employees is to sound genuine. It’s important to keep your tone warm and friendly, as these are characteristics often attributed to Thanksgiving. You don’t want to come off as cold during the Thanksgiving season.
